Young Chefs Club

On the 21st of April we attended the Durban Country Club for a Brandy Competition Info Day where we learnt about how Brandy is made and what the rules are for the competition. It was a great experience because we got to meet some of the best chefs in Durban and we got to taste some delicious pastries.

Swiss Roll with Chantilly Cream dredged in Icing Sugar and garnished with Fresh Strawberries and Sables garnished with Chocolate and dusted with Icing Sugar


Croquemboche filled with Creme Patissiere dipped in Caramel and Decorated with Spun Sugar and Fondant Roses


Frangipane Tartlets topped with Peach brushed with Apricot Glaze and garnished with Fresh Mint


Challah Bread topped with Poppy Seeds and served with Butter


Scones topped with Fresh Cream and Strawberry Jam and garnished with Fresh Mint and Butternut and Sage Quiche garnished with Crispy Sage


Soft Rolls topped with Poppy Seeds and Sesame Seeds served with Thyme Butter
